Ken Burns, who wrote and produced PBS' highly acclaimed "Civil War" and "Baseball" documentaries, will speak at Syracuse University in September. However, don't put it on the calender: Only SU undergraduates might be invited.
As of this moment, the filmmaker is scheduled to speak at around 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the campus' Grant Auditorium, which has about 450 seats. That will likely change. Final plans are to be announced.
Burns will speak at SU and the University of Rochester as part of a national college tour.
The documentarian is likely to speak about U.S. history and plead on behalf of PBS, whose funding is targeted by Congress.
